In order to enhance client convenience and maximize website security, Castle Design will now automatically update all client websites (who are hosted with Castle Design) with the latest version of WordPress, including themes and plugins.
Internet security experts say that it is absolutely essential to always update your software with the latest version to avoid giving malware or hackers easy entree into your system. While some software updates are just regular, incremental improvements to the product, some updates are to fix critical security issues that have just recently been discovered. Failing to make a critical security update in a timely fashion will make you an easy target for bad actors. Some states are even considering laws making business owners legally responsible for the privacy of their customer data.
Our new, free update service will make sure that your website is updated and secure as expeditiously as possible, and best of all, you don’t have to lift a finger. We do all the work for you.
In order to prevent website downtime, we have a policy of creating a full back up of every client website on our server once a week. Moreover, we store all client backups for two weeks on the server, so you have the flexibility of reverting back to an older backup in case of a serious issue.
Please note that WordPress updates come at irregular intervals (on a weekly to monthly basis), so it is important to check your website as frequently as possible to make sure that everything is still working correctly.
NOTE: Software updates can cause problems with website layout and function. In specific, WordPress updates can “break” themes or plugins. Please check your website regularly to make sure everything is working correctly. We are happy to fix any problems with broken themes or plugins resulting from an update for $60 per hour. Of course, if there is a major problem with an update, we can always revert to a pre-update backup on a temporary basis.
